IELTS Examination Preparation in London

Helping you access the world of higher education and international work opportunities

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an internationally owned and globally recognised direct English language assessment of the highest quality and integrity readily available throughout the world.

Englishouse has a range of IELTS Preparation courses that run throughout the year for those with a good Intermediate level or higher.

There are two different IELTS modules: Academic and General Training. The Speaking and Listening tests are the same in both modules, but the Reading and Writing tests are different. The Academic module is suitable if you wish to study at undergraduate or postgraduate levels, or if you are seeking professional registration, e.g. doctors and nurses.

At the end of the exam there is no pass or fail but instead you will get an overall score from 1 (lowest) to 9 (highest). Most universities accept a score of 6 or 6.5 as a prerequisite for their courses if the student is from a non-English speaking country.

IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL) and delivered through more than 800 test centres and locations in over 130 countries.

British Council connects people worldwide with the learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK and builds lasting relationships between the UK and other countries. British Council is the UK's international organisation for educational opportunity and cultural relations and is represented in 109 countries worldwide.

IDP: IELTS Australia is one of the world’s leading international education and development organisations offering international student placement, English language training and testing services, and the management of international aid projects on behalf of government sponsors.
